Our very own colleague Kristian is a former Danish competitive figure athlete and can attest to how easy it is to injure yourself when spending day after day in the gym. As a matter of fact, he developed a rotator cuff injury leading up to a competition.
When Kristian was met with the choice of not competing that season or risk further worsening his rotator cuff tear he did what all dedicated athletes do - he kept pushing knowing the risk. Not something we at GoodPostureNow recommends, but an athlete's mindset and perseverance to reach their goals are made of unbreakable steel.
So what did Kristian do to overcome the pain associated with his rotator cuff injury as he kept training? Besides making adjustments to his workout routine (reducing the frequency of push movement exercises) he started using a shoulder compression brace.
Shoulder compression brace benefits?
Provides support and compression therapy for improved recovery rate/reduced recovery time for injuries such as sprains, rotator cuff tear, shoulder dislocation, frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) and more.
External compression helps increase blood flow to the target area increasing recovery rate and support restricts unwanted movements reducing the risk of re-injuring the shoulder and promoting recovery.
Flexible and adjustable velcro allows for proper stabilization fit in accordance for each individual demand - one-size-fit design for men and women.
Ambidextrous design allows the shoulder compression brace to fit both the left or right arm/shoulder.
Lycar Fiber Breathable Neoprene material enables optimal support while remaining comfortable and non-intrusive to your daily activities.
Ideal for preventing sports injuries. By providing careful and optimal support during sports activities the shoulder brace sleeve can actively help to prevent sports injuries from happening and/or provide optimal recovery for existing injuries.
How to wear the shoulder compression brace?
Lift the velcro and put equip the shoulder pad.
Adjust the velcro to your arm size and preference to make it comfortable on your shoulder
Attach the strap to the buckle and pull it to a comfortable tightness, and stick the velcro firmly.
Open the bidirectional shoulder velcro strap and adjust it to a comfortable position.
With proper adjustments to his workout routine, a sensible approach and proper shoulder support and compression Kristian managed to finish in the top 3 of the Danish national figure athlete competition that season without worsening of symptoms. A few months later and the injury had healed.
Adult size optimal for shoulder width 36-51cm(14.1''-20.0'')
For proper maintenance do not bleach or machine wash over 30 degrees. Do not use it with a dryer.
Once you receive your order please wash the shoulder brace to reduce the characteristic odour.
